This week in Northern Ballet (6 Oct 2014)
After the exciting announcements and award wins of last week, the fun continues this week as the Company head out to the most easterly point on this season's tour with seven performances of Cinderella at Norwich Theatre Royal.
During our visit, our lovely Learning team have organised a handful of Step Closer events to give you unprecedented insight into Cinderella and the world of Northern Ballet.
Even though they're out on the road the Company are always looking ahead and will be using the stage in Norwich to rehearse for Peter Pan between shows to prepare for the festive season.
Meanwhile, Javier Torres is in Baden Baden, Germany rehearsing pieces from Othello and As You Like It with John Neumeier and Hamburg Ballet ready for a performance at the 24th International Ballet Festival in his home country of Cuba.
Another morning of hard work with Hamburg Ballet . Amazing what you can learn in just 1h with John… http://t.co/xfXMyNihMy— Javier Torres (@javierballet) October 6, 2014
The latest issue of Glamour magazine went on sale this week and you might recognise Giuliano Contadini and Lucia Solari jumping for joy in Cinderella on page 48. We've teamed up with Glamour to give you the chance to win a fantastic Cinderella weekend break in Manchester including a pair of Cinderella's sparkly pointe shoes signed by Dreda Blow.
A catch-up on last week...
Nottingham Theatre Royal was alive with the sound of jazz as we performed The Great Gatsby to some fantastic audiences.
Don't worry, if you haven't had a chance to see it yet. The Great Gatsby will be back in a few weeks touring to Canterbury and Bradford this season before visiting London and Norwich in spring.
We announced our latest new ballet will be an adaptation of George Orwell's 1984, choreographed by Jonathan Watkins.
And finally, we made the front page of the Yorkshire Post after being awarded Best Company at the Taglioni European Ballet Awards.
