Arriving at the Mercer Gallery

Published on Thursday 11 February, 2016

There's just two days to go until our dancers arrive in Harrogate this Saturday for an exciting performance at the Mercer Art Gallery and we can't wait!

Inspired by the new exhibition of work by Yorkshire artist Tom Wood, Ballet at the Gallery sees six short ballet pieces created and performed by members of the Company.

This is our first collaboration with the innovative Harrogate gallery and is set to be an intimate evening of art and live dance which also features talks by Tom Wood himself as well as David Nixon OBE and Curator of the Mercer Art Gallery, Jane Sellers.

The six new dance works which have been created in response to portraits by Tom Wood are:

Rétrospective - Choreographed by Gavin McCaig

Performed by Jeremy Curnier, Jenny Hackwell, Kiara Flavin and Natalia Kerner

In Absentia - Choreographed by Nicola Gervasi

Performed by Victoria Sibson, Matthew Topliss, Jeremy Curnier and Miki Akuta

Mistress - Choreographed by Tobias Batley

Performed by Martha Leebolt and Giuliano Contadini

Untitled - Choreographed by Mlindi Kulashe
