Looking back at our Easter Course

Published on Friday 25 April, 2014

Last week at Northern Ballet 48 children took part in our open Easter Course! The children, all aged between 6 and 13 had a great time looking at extracts from Northern Ballet’s current productions; Three Little Pigs and Cinderella.

This year our Easter course focussed on the famous tales and challenged our budding young dancers to bring the magical characters to life through their face, bodies and of course, their dancing.

As well as having daily Ballet Technique classes, the young people took on the characters of the step sisters and little piggy’s. Needless to say, we had loads of huffing and puffing from our wolves and some very beautiful and regal dancing at our royal ball!

It was a very busy week for all, culminating in two brilliant performances to family and friends, showcasing everything our dancers had learnt throughout the week – and definitely earning themselves some chocolate Easter eggs!

One of our participant’s parents said ‘She’s talked non-stop about what she’s done this week – she’s now desperate for the next one!’ – and so are we!

Our Summer Course runs from 18-21 Aug which is open to anyone aged 6-13 who loves to dance - email Shelley Firth to register your interest...
