Wuthering Heights opens next week
It’s just one week until Wuthering Heights opens at West Yorkshire Playhouse to kick off our autumn tour. This is a very special piece from our repertoire, being the first original full-length ballet created for the Company by our Artistic Director David Nixon OBE. This will be the first time in over 10 years that the ballet has been performed in Leeds, just miles from Emily Brontë’s original setting.
It promises to be an exceptional week of performances, not least on Saturday 10 September where the performance is dedicated to celebrating Hironao Takashi’s 25 years dancing with the Company. You may not know that David actually created the role of Edgar on Hironao and this is the role which he will be performing on the night.
Talking of milestones, David has now been the Artistic Director of Northern Ballet for 15 years! Get yourself in the mood for Wuthering Heights and our upcoming season by reading an interview with David in the Yorkshire Post where he talks about his tenure with the Company so far.
