Ugly Duckling at CBBC Summer Social

Published on Friday 29 June, 2018

For three days in August, Northern Ballet will be teaming up with CBBC as part of their Summer Social in Liverpool. The event, which runs from 3 - 5 August, is the BBC’s biggest ever kids’ event and the only festival to give 6 - 12 year olds and their families a unique line up of CBBC favourites alongside a host of other partners.

Set against the historic backdrop of the Grade II listed Croxteth Hall in Croxteth Country Park, we will be offering families the chance to learn more about the Hans Christian Anderson fairy-tale, Ugly Duckling. These fun and accessible workshops will bring together live dance, music and theatre to tell the heart-warming story of a lonely duckling.

Having supported the event in previous years, we are pleased to be official partners for the 2018 festival. Our Director of Learning, Leanne Kirkham, said:

‘We are delighted to be working with CBBC once again to offer families a chance to delve deeper into our well-loved production, Ugly Duckling. The Summer Social is a fantastic way for Northern Ballet to reach new audiences, giving everyone the chance to get active and experience dancing through fun and friendly workshops, suitable for the whole family to enjoy together. Becoming official partners in this event further solidifies our shared commitment to bringing great cultural experiences to all.’
