The Great Gatsby

Northern Ballet has returned home to Leeds following a sell-out international tour to China
After performing to sell-out houses in Shanghai it's on to the magnificent 2,400 seat NCPA (National Centre for Performing Arts) in Beijing.
Northern Ballet are a Company that never stands still. Directly after our incredibly popular Christmas season of The Nutcracker, and before the busy national spring 2016 tour, we are travelling to China to perform The Great Gatsby in Shanghai and Beijing.
Uncertain about coming to see The Great Gatsby? Here's what our audience had to say about it on Twitter after experiencing it at theatres across the country... Updated 26 March 2015 London, Sadler's Wells Saw the Northern Ballet's 'Great Gatsby' at @Sadlers_Wells last night, it was beautiful. Inspired.
1. F. Scott Fitzgerald considered many different titles for The Great Gatsby including the not-so-catchy Among Ash-Heaps and Millionaires, Trimalchio and my personal favourite: Gold-Hatted Gatsby.
Casts for autumn 2014 will be posted as soon as they're announced. All casts are subject to change without notice.
Following the announcement that Northern Ballet is to première an adaptation of George Orwell’s 1984 by Jonathan Watkins in September 2015, the Leeds-based Company, which is celebrating its 45th anniversary year, has released details of its plans for spring 2015 with a season of iconic love stories giving 134 performances across 28 venues in the UK.
It's been a long time since my last Tales from Touring blog and in fact it's been about four months since the last time I was out and about with the Company in Southampton! Since then we've had a fantastic run of performances of the Mixed Programme at our Stanley & Audrey Burton Theatre, followed by a well-earned summer break for our dancers, six weeks of rehearsals and a stunning revival of Dracula at the West Yorkshire Playhouse.
