The romantic antics of a touring dance company are played out on one midsummer night as the company travels by sleeper train from London to Edinburgh. Dior inspired costumes and stylish black and white sets provide a dazzling contrast to the glorious Technicolor of the dream-world, whilst David Nixon's choreography brings out the comedy, romance and entanglements of this enchanting story. Set to music by Mendelssohn and Brahms, A Midsummer Night's Dream is one of Northern Ballet's most magical productions.
Patricia has worked extensively with Northern Ballet, beginning as drama consultant and acting coach on Christopher Gable’s Dracula, continuing with him and Michael Pink on Giselle and The Hunchback of Notre Dame.  She then directed Northern Ballet’s Carmen and A Streetcar Named Desire, both choreographed by Didy Veldman.
John Longstaff
John was born in Lancashire and educated at Girton College, Cambridge and Guildhall School of Music and Drama. He has worked with numerous companies including: Kiel Opera House, Germany (conductor and rehearsal pianist), Northern Ballet (conductor and rehearsal pianist), Sheffield Symphony Orchestra (artistic director), Leeds College of Music (opera conductor), English National Ballet (guest conductor), Young Opera Venture (musical director) and St. Peter’s Church, Harrogate (Director of Music).
