I am going quackers with excitement! It's the premiere of Ugly Duckling tomorrow and I am looking forward to it so much I think I might pop!
Quack quack!  What a wonderful few days I’ve just had at the Breeze on tour event at Kirkstall Abbey.
Although it may not seem like it with this weather, the summer is here and so our regular classes are drawing to a close for the summer holidays. To mark the end of term and to celebrate a couple of significant birthdays (I obviously can’t give their ages away, but you wouldn’t believe me anyway as their youthful looks belie their years), our Dancing for the Over 55s class held a picnic lunch after their class this week.
Friday was a day of recovery for the Learning team as the START project came to an end for another year. On Thursday we had 550 young people (plus their teachers) watching the performance of Madame Butterfly at Leeds Grand Theatre and the atmosphere in the theatre was electric.
As the lead artist on the Easter Course I’m getting really excited as we will be working in partnership with International Puppet Artist and Physical Theatre Performer, Rebekha Caputo.
Northern Ballet supports Love Arts Festival. Love Arts Festival explores and celebrates the role of the arts in relation to mental health and well-being.
On Friday 2 September Northern Ballet held it's third annual Ballet on Briggate bringing dance into the heart of the city. Performing on stage were Northern Ballet dancers, Phoenix Dance Theatre, Northern Ballet Academy students, Phoenix Youth Academy students, the Association of Dance of the African Diaspora (ADAD), Kala Sangam and Manasamitra.
