The Nutcracker

Decorate your very own Nutcracker doll - you can use felt-tips, crayons, paint, glitter, feathers and more! Send us your creation and could we'll feature it on our site!
In August, 2010, we held a preview event at City Inn, Leeds, where we showed excerpts from The Nutcracker. Dancers Julie Charlet, Ben Mitchell and Thomas Aragones gave the rapt audience a flavour of the ballet.
John Longstaff
John was born in Lancashire and educated at Girton College, Cambridge and Guildhall School of Music and Drama. He has worked with numerous companies including: Kiel Opera House, Germany (conductor and rehearsal pianist), Northern Ballet (conductor and rehearsal pianist), Sheffield Symphony Orchestra (artistic director), Leeds College of Music (opera conductor), English National Ballet (guest conductor), Young Opera Venture (musical director) and St. Peter’s Church, Harrogate (Director of Music).

Uncle Drosslemeyer's curious box of performing toys captivates the children and adults alike, but it is the wooden Nutcracker doll that enchants young Clara most. Christmas Eve in the twinkling drawing room of the Edwards' family home. Amidst the commotion the fire crackles and the pile of presents grows ever taller.
