Our final performances of Jane Eyre this season take place at The Lowry in Salford from 6 – 9 June. As well as saying farewell for now to this fiery ballet, we will also be saying goodbye to two wonderful dancers, Victoria Sibson and Dreda Blow.
Victoria Sibson's long history with Northern Ballet began when she trained as a Northern Ballet Associate. After further training at Central School of Ballet and dancing with Ballet Central, she returned to Northern Ballet in 2003 to dance with the Company.
Over her 15 year career at Northern Ballet, she has created and performed many memorable roles, including: Puck in A Midsummer Night's Dream; Milady de Winter in The Three Musketeers; Myrtle in The Great Gatsby; and Madame de Pompadour in Casanova, a ballet by Kenneth Tindall. She created the role of Bertha Mason, Rochester's first wife, in Jane Eyre.
Victoria's final performance with Northern Ballet will be the evening performance of Jane Eyre on Thursday 7 June.
Dreda Blow joined Northern Ballet from Het Nationale Ballet in Amsterdam in 2007.
Last year she created the role of Bellino in Casanova, a ballet by Kenneth Tindall. She recently reprised her role as Jane in Jane Eyre and performed as both Dana and Marilla in The Little Mermaid.
Alongside her many unforgettable performances, including Juliet in Romeo and Juliet, Julia in 1984 and Cathy in Wuthering Heights, she also co-choreographed two of our children's ballets, Tortoise & the Hare and Ugly Duckling.
Dreda's final performance with Northern Ballet will be the evening performance of Jane Eyre on Saturday 9 June.
We hope you can join us at The Lowry and help us to make Victoria and Dreda's final shows with us truly special.
Full details of new and departing dancers will be announced in the summer.
