Originally from Northamptonshire, I had a keen interest in the arts from a young age. I studied at Leeds Metropolitan University graduating in 2009 with BA (Hons) Entertainment Management. Shortly after I gained my first job as Administrator at Yorkshire Dance, before being appointed Access and Education Coordinator at Phoenix Dance Theatre in 2012. In 2014 joined Opera North as Education Coordinator and worked with their renowned Children’s Chorus before starting as Learning Project Manager at Northern Ballet in 2015.
In my current role I’m responsible for our START project, which enables young people who wouldn’t normally have access to the arts to take part in dance activities and visit their local theatre. I oversee Learning events on tour across the UK, including our audio described performances for visually impaired patrons. I’m also a Child Protection Officer for Northern Ballet.
What I love most about my job is the variety; no day is ever the same and you get to meet lots of interesting people who are passionate about what they do!
