Philippa Ranger

Dance Education Officer

I received my BA (hons) International Dance degree from the University of Leeds (Bretton Hall) in 2008, and as part of which, I was lucky enough to do an Erasmus year at Fontys Dance Academy in The Netherlands.  After graduating I was a freelance dance teacher for a year before working for the Hunslet Club in South Leeds as the Arts Development Co-ordinator.  In this role I developed the arts throughout the youth club as well as delivering a full timetable of varied dance styles and events.  Along the way I became a qualified IDTA teacher in ballet and modern-jazz and have achieved a Lifelong Learning PGCE in-service from the University of Huddersfield.

I started working for Northern Ballet in 2015 as the Dance Education Officer where I get to deliver dance to a variety of different ages and abilities.  My job is varied and exciting as every day I get to work with different people. Through Northern Ballet, I have done further  training and I am now a member of the Safeguarding Committee, an Arts Award Advisor, a Dementia Champion and am First Aid Trained.
