Northern Ballet dancers Gavin McCaig and Alice Bayston paid a special visit to Leeds Children’s Hospital to deliver presents to some of the children on behalf of the Leeds-based ballet company. The dancers were dressed as Peter Pan and Tinkerbell from Northern Ballet’s Christmas production of Peter Pan which is being performed at Leeds Grand Theatre until 20 December.

Alice Bayston said: ‘It was an honour to take some time out to meet some of the children and their families. It was wonderful to see their faces light up and their genuine excitement when they saw us in our costumes. I’m glad we were able to bring them a bit of festive joy.’

Emma Whitehead, Play Leader at the Leeds Children’s Hospital, said: ‘Christmas is a very special time of the year and we do everything possible to make it a memorable occasion for the young people in our care.  Visits are always greatly appreciated, and to have two dancers from Northern Ballet taking time to come and meet our children and spread some seasonal cheer was greatly appreciated and brought some very big smiles to our wards.’

Northern Ballet’s festive family ballet, Peter Pan, returns exclusively to Leeds Grand Theatre from 11 – 20 December 2014. Tickets can be booked through the box office by visiting or calling 0844 848 2700.
