Meet our new dancers

Meet the nine new dancers who joined the Company this summer, ready for our Autumn 2018 season.

Adam Ashcroft

Adam is from Walthamstow in London. He took classes at Vestry School of Dance before going to Elmhurst Ballet School (Lower School) and then The Royal Ballet School (Upper School). He worked with the Estonian National Ballet from 2015 to 2018. He joined Northern Ballet as a Dancer in 2018.

Harris Beattie

Harris trained at Danscentre in Aberdeen and Central School of Ballet, graduating in 2018 with BA (Hons) in Professional Dance and Performance. In 2017 he won the prestigious Gold medal at the Genée International Ballet Competition. Past performance experience incudes performing works by Wayne McGregor, Kenneth McMillan, Matthew Bourne and Jenna Lee with Ballet Central. He joined Northern Ballet as a Dancer in 2018.

Helen Bogatch

Helen is from Tallinn in Estonia. She trained at Tallinn Ballet School and then later danced with the Estonian National Ballet. She joined Northern Ballet as a Dancer in 2018.

Kyungka Kwak

Kyungka is from Seoul, South Korea and trained with the Sunhwa Arts School and Ewha Womans University. Her previous companies include Universal Ballet Company, Korea. She joined Northern Ballet as a Dancer in 2018.

George Liang

George is from Taipei in Taiwan and trained with the New Zealand School of Dance, Canada’s National Ballet School, and I Shin Dance Studio. He previously danced with The National Ballet of Canada. He joined Northern Ballet as a Dancer in 2018.

Nina Queiroz da Silva

Nina is from Brazil and trained with Stella Maris Academia de Danca, with Camilla Pupa at EDAP and later with Miami City Ballet School, where she was also an apprentice with the Company. In 2014 she joined Ballet Nacional del Sodre in Uruguay, under the direction of Julio Bocca and most recently of Igor Yebra; she was promoted to Soloist in 2016. She joined Northern Ballet as a Dancer in 2018.

Conner Jordan-Collins

Conner is from London and trained at the Young Dancers Academy and English National Ballet School. He joins Northern Ballet as an Apprentice in September 2018.

Matthew Morrell

Matthew is from Manchester and trained at Central School of Ballet and on the Academy of Northern Ballet’s Professional Graduate Programme. He joined Northern Ballet as an Apprentice in 2018.

Julie Nunès

Julie is from La Ciotat in France and trained at the Ecole Nationale Supérieure de Danse de Marseille and Central School of Ballet. Upon graduation, she joined the Academy of Northern Ballet’s Professional Graduate Programme where she also performed with the Company. She was then part of the corps de ballet in Andrew Lloyd Webber’s Phantom of the Opera, in Stockholm. She joined Northern Ballet as an Apprentice in 2018.
