Daniel de Andrade's Fatal Kiss

For this short piece I have chosen to use the Otoño Porteño (Buenos Aires Autumn) from Astor Piazzola’s Las Cuatro Estaciones Porteñas (The Four Seasons of Buenos Aires).

It is a very dramatic track with many changes of dynamics. While choosing it, I also came across a song by Astor Piazzola called Ballada para mi muerte (Ballad for my death) which tells the story of a man coming to terms with meeting his death in Buenos Aires. This song has inspired an underlying theme for this pas de deux, as a man meets his death in the form of a last kiss which he is reluctant to accept.
