David Nixon

Northern Ballet Artistic Director, David Nixon OBE, has been in Australia with West Australian Ballet to stage his Beauty & the Beast. David created the ballet for Christmas 2011 at Leeds Grand Theatre before it toured to eleven cities in the UK from Canterbury to Edinburgh. West Australian Ballet will be performing Beauty & the Beast 13 - 28 May at His Majesty's Theatre, Perth.

Northern Ballet is delighted to announce the four budding choreographers to take part in the Company’s inaugural Choreographic Laboratory, Tell Tale Steps. Northern Ballet Premier Dancer and Choreographer Kenneth Tindall, former Royal Ballet First Artist Ludovic Ondiviela and Scottish Ballet dancer Constant Vigier have all been nominated by their companies.

Northern Ballet – a brief history 1969 – 1976 Artistic Director: Laverne Meyer Canadian-born dramatic dancer, Laverne Meyer, sets up Northern Dance Theatre in 1969. The Company has 11 dancers and quickly gains a strong identity and loyal audience. The emphasis is on small-scale classical and modern works. The Company builds a strong identity and a loyal audience in the North.
