Northern Ballet has paved the way in creating accessible opportunities for visually impaired audiences to engage with dance and we have devised our own unique programme of activities that supports our audio described performances.
We encourage visually impaired patrons and their companion to take part in a free Touch Tour Insight, which introduces elements of the production to aide in your understanding of the show. You can hear a description of the scenery, feel the props and costumes, and discover the shapes and quality of the movement from the ballet with the aid of Company dancers.
The performance will then be brought to life in your mind’s eyes with a detailed description by Vocaleyes of the movement, action and drama on stage with music played live by the Northern Ballet Sinfonia.
