Alice Bayston

Apprentice

Alice is from Hull in East Yorkshire and joined Northern Ballet in 2014. She trained at Skelton Hooper School of Dance in Hull, English National Ballet School and the Academy of Northern Ballet’s Graduate Professional Programme.

Hull, East Yorkshire.

5 years old.

Which Northern Ballet roles would you most like to dance?

I would love to dance in Madame Butterfly and Wuthering Heights.

Career highlights

Dancing in ENB2’s Cinderella, performing with Northern Ballet during my year in the Graduate Professional Programme and being a part of the creative process of Northern Ballet’s Cinderella.

What do you like most about being a dancer?

I love performing on stage and being taken away by the ballet into a whole new world.

If you could adapt one work into a ballet what would it be?

Tangled.

What is your favourite book?

The Harry Potter series has to be my absolute favourite.

What is your favourite post-show meal?

I’m often quite tired so I tend to just grab a bowl of cereal topped with some fruit.

How do you like to relax?

Watching a movie with friends and popcorn! I also love the outdoors.

If you weren’t a dancer what would you be?

Maybe an interior designer.
