Concerto Six Twenty-Two

Concerto Six Twenty-Two, choreographed by Lar Lubovitch, was commissioned by Centre National de Danse (Angers, France) and premièred in 1986 at Carnegie Hall in New York. Although men dancing together has existed in modern dance almost from the beginning, Concerto Six Twenty-Two brought a new freedom of expression to this concept and, while the piece does not tell a literal story, it indelibly portrays the depth of friendship expressed within a supportive and caring relationship between men.
