A Simple Man

Christopher Gable CBE was born 13 March 1940 and in his career danced with the Sadler's Wells Opera Ballet, Covent Garden Opera Ballet, was a Principal Dancer at The Royal Ballet where he created many roles and in 1982 he founded the Central School of Ballet.
This resource pack is designed to give teachers an insight into Northern Ballet’s production of A Simple Man, to enable teachers to prepare students for a visit to the theatre or to use this production as a stimulus for creative work in the classroom.
Footage taken from the 2009 revival of A Simple Man which explores the life and work of Salford artist, LS Lowry. The part of Lowry was made famous by Christopher Gable in the original BAFTA award winning production for the BBC in 1987.
