A preview to the Grand opening of our new building
So we are here, the big grand opening of Northern Ballet and Phoenix’ new building in Quarry Hill, and boy do we have a great week planned ahead for you all. With a Royal visit from our patron, Prince Edward, the Earl of Wessex on Tuesday 18th January where the red ribbon will finally be cut on our beautiful new building, and a performance from the Company, the Northern Ballet Academy and Phoenix, you’ll be in for a right treat. This performance will be replayed for more special guests on Wednesday 19th and Thursday 20th.
Following these three performances there will be an open day on Saturday 22nd of January. There will be a host of free classes to try, rehearsals and classes to watch and 4 performances through the day. The performances will consist of excerpts from our new production Cleopatra, excerpts from Powerhouse Rhumba, pieces by the Academy and I’ll be slipping into my ballet shoes for a couple of performances of the Grand Pas from The Nutcracker with Lori Gilchrist as my Sugar Plum. So please if you have are in town on Saturday come and drop in to see our brand new building down at Quarry Hill.
Here is a sneaky peek at what you will see this week. I hope to see you at some point but until then please enjoy the photos. (All photos are without costume as this was a technical rehearsal.)
