Communications Officer

Northern Ballet has an award-winnings Communications department, responsible for selling more than £3 million of tickets annually for the Company’s large-scale, mid-scale and children’s ballet performances in more than 50 theatres, reaching an audience of more than 150,000 people.

Furthermore situated within the Company’s landmark headquarters in Leeds City Centre is the Stanley & Audrey Burton Theatre, a 230 seat studio theatre showing a range of dance and family performances.

The Communications Officer will take responsibility for the implementation of comprehensive communications campaigns, including a range of marketing and PR activity across our touring performances. They will also support the rest of the team to ensure the successful delivery of all areas of work and to meet our ambitious sales targets.

You must have some existing experience of working in communications, with a minimum of 12 – 18 months working in a communications role. If you are an exceptional communicator with a genuine passion for a career in arts communications we would welcome your application.

Salary £19,000 25 days holidays + bank holidays

Digital Officer

Northern Ballet has an award-winnings Communications department, responsible for selling more than £3 million of tickets annually for the Company’s large-scale, mid-scale and children’s ballet performances in more than 50 theatres, reaching an audience of more than 150,000 people.

Furthermore situated within the Company’s landmark headquarters in Leeds City Centre is the Stanley & Audrey Burton Theatre, a 230 seat studio theatre showing a range of dance and family performances.

The Digital Officer will work alongside the Digital Manager to support all aspects of the department’s digital work. They will also take responsibility for specific areas of the website and support the rest of the team to ensure the successful delivery of all areas of work and to meet our ambitious sales targets.

We are looking for someone who has acquired excellent programming skills including PHP, HTML, CSS and JavaScript. The ideal candidate would have a relevant qualification or 6- 12 months experience in the work place and be looking for the perfect role to utilise these skills. 

Salary £12,000 (part time 21 hours per week, one year fixed-term contract)

Work Experience at Northern Ballet

Work experience could inspire you to pursue a career in the arts.   At Northern Ballet we aspire to offer this opportunity to more young people across Leeds and Yorkshire.

Work experience is for young people of school age (usually in Years 9, 10 and 11) and can take place at any time in the academic year.

It provides you with an opportunity to spend a week at Northern Ballet gaining a broad experience of working in an arts organisation.

The focus of the experience is on the non-performance areas of the company and during the week you will spend time in different departments including; Technical, Communications, Development, Wardrobe, Learning and the Academy.

We are looking for young people who are enthusiastic about the arts and want to learn more about working behind the scenes at a cultural organisation.
