Work experience is for young people of school age (usually in Years 9, 10 and 11) and can take place at any time in the academic year.
It provides you with an opportunity to spend a week at Northern Ballet gaining a broad experience of working in an arts organisation.
The focus of the experience is on the non-performance areas of the company and during the week you will spend time in different departments including; Technical, Communications, Development, Wardrobe, Learning and the Academy.
We are looking for young people who are enthusiastic about the arts and want to learn more about working behind the scenes at a cultural organisation.

Male and Female Dancers
We are looking for male and female dancers. You should be open-minded, creative and imaginative with strong classical technique and pointe work, exceptional partnering skills and strength.
Closed audition, by invitation only, will be held in Leeds on Sunday 14 February 2016.
Please submit a full CV (which must include height, weight, date of birth and nationality), recent full-length classical dance photos and DVD of centre class work in leotard/tights (ladies on pointe), showing long combinations both sides of adage, pirouettes, small and large jumps and a travelling combination (no costumes please) to: Matt Lawn, Northern Ballet, Leeds LS2 7PA by Monday 18 January 2016.
Northern Ballet tour the UK and overseas extensively each year. Our repertoire is a mix of both classical and neo-classical works as well as imaginative narrative full-length ballets.

The aim of the Learning Department is to deliver a programme of work that develops people’s understanding and enjoyment of Northern Ballet’s work. Last year, working with a diverse range of children, young people and adults, the Learning Team delivered approximately 2,300 sessions to an estimated 50,000 people, across a broad range of activity to engage and inspire people about dance.
We are looking for a passionate, inspiring and creative Director of Learning to lead our exemplary Learning Team. Representing a high quality ballet Company, you will provide strategic direction for the Learning Team as part of the development of Northern Ballet. The role of the Director is to design plans and implement programmes that achieve increased support and integration within the Company, contribute to its viability and enhance its reputation and audience development locally, nationally and internationally.
Full time position.
Salary £40,000 – £42,000 per annum, depending on experience.
