Jessica Morgan

Jessica is from Newcastle, Australia. She trained at the Marie Walton Mahon Dance Academy and Elmhurst School for Dance. She joined Northern Ballet in 2007 and left in 2016.

She joined the teaching faculty at the Academy of Northern Ballet in 2018.

Bronze Medal – Genée International Ballet Competition 2006.

Favourite Northern Ballet roles?

Odette (Swan Lake), Myrtha (Giselle),Myrtle (The Great Gatsby) and Stepmother (Cinderella). I have also enjoyed performing in Kenneth Tindall’s Project #1 and The Architect and in Hans van Manen’s Concertante.

Career highlights

Performing Kenneth Tindall’s Bitter Earth at Sadler’s Wells for the Autumn Gala of Song and Dance and performing The Ultimate Form in Paris at the Musée d’art Moderne.

What do you like most about being a dancer?

Performing at beautiful theatres around the UK and internationally.

If you could adapt one work into a ballet what would it be?

Crocodile Dundee!

What is your favourite book?

Looking for Alibrandi by Melina Marchetta.

How do you like to relax?

Spending time with my family and friends or laying in the sun reading Vogue.

If you weren’t a dancer what would you be?

A Personal Trainer.
