MA Fees & Finance

The Academy of Northern Ballet’s Masters programme is a validated degree by Northern School of Contemporary Dance (NSCD).

As you will be on NSCD’s student registry, if you are a UK (home fee paying student) you are entitled to the same financial assistance as students at UK Universities. This support includes government-sponsored loans and grants from the UK Postgraduate loans company.  When you accept your offer, NSCD will be in contact with you directly to help you apply for your student loan if you are eligible. Further details regarding eligibility and how to apply can be found at Funding for postgraduate study - GOV.UK Note: Please do not apply until NSCD has been in touch about this

Associated Costs

An Acceptance Administration Fee of £50* is payable at the point of acceptance to offers made on the MA Classical Ballet Performance course. Full details will be provided within any offer letters that are issued.

• A Course Fee Deposit of £1500 is payable by postgraduate students paying overseas fees or those students not obtaining a Postgraduate Loan from Student Finance England or its equivalent. The Academy of Northern Ballet will require you to pay the deposit at the point of acceptance.  The deposit is deducted from the final instalment of your course fees. Course fee deposits are not normally refundable unless you exercise your right to cancel your contract under the Consumer Contract (Information, Cancellation and Additional Payments) Regulations 2013 within 14 days of submitting the Academy of Northern Ballet Acceptance Form.
• Students who are applying for a Postgraduate Loan from Student Finance England or its equivalent must provide proof of their loan application at the point of acceptance to be exempt from this deposit.
• Uniform costs: £250 - £450 plus pointe shoes and tutu (if required).
• Student visa application fee: £524 (overseas students only). More information on student visas

• Cost of the IELTS for UKVI English test (for overseas students only). More information on the IELTS for UKVI
• Private medical insurance (recommended): circa £1,500.
• English for speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) recommended where necessary.
• Students will also need to budget for rent, maintenance and living costs (eligible UK students may qualify for a maintenance loan from Student Finance England).

Financial Assistance

The Academy of Northern Ballet offers a limited number of bursaries to MA Classical Ballet Performance students to support associated costs of the course, which may include accommodation, travel, uniform, and other necessary equipment.

Bursaries will be allocated on a means-tested basis, by application and are open to all students. We cannot guarantee bursaries to any student, as funds are distributed based on availability and need across the cohort.
