Aitor Arrieta

Aitor danced with the Company as a Guest Artist in 2021.

Born in Oiartzun, Spain (Basque Country), Aitor joined English National Ballet in 2016 and was promoted to First Soloist in 2019. Joint winner of Emerging Dancer 2017, he trained at the Mariemma Royal Conservatory of Professional Dance and previously danced for Compañía Nacional de Danza, Madrid.

Roles for English National Ballet include: Albrecht (Khan's Giselle); Nephew/Prince & Nutcracker (Eagling's The Nutcracker); Prince Siegfried (Deane's Swan Lake); Des Grieux (MacMillan's Manon); Paris (Nureyev's Romeo & Juliet); on of the Four Fates Prince Guillaume (Wheeldon's Cinderella); and Lankendem (Le Corsaire). Created roles include Forsythe's Playlist (Track 1, 2).  

In 2015 Aitor received The Professional Dancers' Association of Gipuzkoa Discover Award and the 2015 Dancer Revelation of Gipuzkoa Prize. He was also awarded the Gold Medal at the International Dance Contest of Biarritz, 2013 and first place Championship of Euskadi Aurresku, 2011.
