Northern Ballet creates and tours ballet to towns and cities across the UK. Combining classical ballet technique and acting, we bring people of all ages and backgrounds together to share in the joy of exhilarating storytelling.
We are the only professional ballet company in the UK fully integrated with our own training Academy, which combined with our work in schools, community settings and our inclusive dance programme forms an accessible talent pipeline in the North of England.
We use the skills and techniques inherent in ballet to deliver participatory work that positively impacts on people’s mental and physical wellbeing, brings communities together and enriches children’s education.
Our work is shaped by our three priorities, Creating Stories that Connect, Developing New Voices and Artists and of course Sharing the Joy of Dance with as many people as possible.
Our values support our purpose and shape how we work together every day.
- Striving for Excellence
- Collaboration and Curiosity
- Understanding and Respect
- Sharing Knowledge with Generosity
- Welcoming and Safe
We’re an Arts Council England National Portfolio Organisation, which means funding thanks to taxpayers and National Lottery players is vital in supporting our work.
