This December, we are delighted to launch our Dancer Wellbeing Fund, dedicated to supporting our artists with the care they need to bring unforgettable performances to audiences for years to come.
Behind every performance are years of hard work, daily dedication and immense physical demand. Each of our dancers completes an average of 8 years professional training before going on to share over 200 performances each year with thousands of ballet lovers across the UK and beyond.
To help our company perform at their best, specialist support is essential, from bespoke pointe shoes to personalised fitness plans and, when needed, expert medical care and rehabilitation. By helping us raise the £100,000 we need to cover these costs each year, you can care for the extraordinary artists behind the performances you love and help them thrive on and off the stage for years to come.
"The Dancer Wellbeing Fund will make a huge difference... Having access to this kind of support is invaluable in helping me continue doing what I love."
Dominique Larose, Principal Dancer
The Big Give Christmas Challenge
The Big Give Christmas Challenge is a seven-day online match funding campaign taking place from the 1st - 8th December 2026.
This year, we are taking part in the Christmas Challenge to launch the Dancer Wellbeing Fund, meaning that every donation made during the campaign week will be doubled, getting the fund off to the best possible start.
“I’m truly inspired by Northern Ballet dancers’ talent and dedication. By supporting dancer wellbeing, I hope to help ensure they have the care they need to thrive on and off stage. I’m delighted to provide match funding to launch the appeal, and hope others will join me supporting this vital work.”
Julian Maitland, Artistic Director's Circle member
By making a donation, you will be directly supporting key health and wellbeing initiatives; helping to prevent injuries, support recovery when needed and enable our amazing dancers to flourish both on and off the stage.
If you would like to support the launch of the Northern Ballet Dancer Wellbeing Fund, please return to this page on Tuesday 1 December 2026 for more details on how to donate.
Thank you for helping us ensure that our dancers can continue bringing unforgettable performances to audiences for years to come.
Northern Ballet's 2026 Big Give Christmas Challenge appeal is generously supported with match funding from Julian Maitland and the Reed Foundation.
