Daniel de Andrade
Daniel is from Brazil and has danced with National Ballet of Portugal, London City Ballet, Zurich Opera House Ballet and Scottish Ballet.
He joined Northern Ballet as Principal Artist in 1995 performing and creating many leading roles until being appointed Ballet Master in 2003.
Daniel has worked as guest with Bern Ballet, Deborah Colker Dance Company, Phoenix Dance Theatre, Royal Academy of Dance, Ballet Central, The Ballet Boyz, National Dance Company of Wales, Estonia Opera House Ballet and Royal New Zealand Ballet.
Daniel is the Artistic Director of Northern Ballet’s ‘Short Ballets for Small People’ tour for which he has produced Elves & the Shoemaker.
As the 2011/12 Clore Leadership Programme Dance Fellow he was mentored by Wayne McGregor and seconded to Sadler’s Wells Theatre.
His choreographic work includes: Glass Canon, Untainted Parallel, Danzando Felini and Overworlds & Underworlds.
Daniel premièred his first full-length ballet Nijinsky – God of the Dance (with music by Carl Davis) for the Slovak National Ballet in November 2015.
