Apprentice
Itsuki is from Yamanashi, Japan and trained at Central School of Ballet. After graduating, he trained on the Academy of Northern Ballet’s Professional Graduate Programme. He performed in Cinderella for the English National Ballet. He was with Northern Ballet in 2023 for the winter season.

Where were you born and raised?
I was born in Yamanashi, Japan.
At what age did you start dancing?
I started dancing when I was six years old.
Where did you train?
I started to learn ballet at Miwa’s ballet studio. Then, I trained at Central School of Ballet and the Academy of Northern Ballet's Professional Graduate Programme.
What are your favourite Northern Ballet roles?
I love the Mouse King’s soldiers from The Nutcracker because this was my first role with the Company when I was a student of Professional Graduate Programme. It’s just so much fun to play on the stage.
What do you like most about being a dancer?
When I was a student on the Professional Graduate Programme, I danced with Northern Ballet in The Great Gatsby, The Nutcracker, and Ugly Ducking.
What do you like most about being a dancer?
What I like most about being a dancer is getting to tell a story to audiences.
If you could adapt one work into a ballet what would it be?
I would love to see a ballet version of Cats.
What is your favourite post-show meal?
Something with Japanese rice.
How do you like to relax?
Taking a very long bath.
If you weren’t a dancer what would you be?
I would like to be a football player and play for Japan at the World Cup.
