Kyungka is from Seoul, South Korea and trained with the Sunhwa Arts School and Ewha Womans University. Her previous companies include Universal Ballet Company, Korea. She joined Northern Ballet in 2018.

At what age did you start dancing?

11 years old.

In Korea at Universal Ballet Academy, Sunhwa Arts School and Ewha Womans University.

Awards/nominations/prizes

Gold Medal at Dance Association of Korea National New Dancer Competition (2013) and Silver Medal at Dong-A Dance Competition (2013).

Which Northern Ballet role would you most like to dance?

I would like to perform in Romeo and Juliet.

What do you like most about being a dancer?

I feel the music deep inside and love to have the movement find its voice.

What is your favourite post-show meal?

I love Korean food.

How do you like to relax?

I like to hang out with friends or watch films.

If you weren’t a dancer what would you be?

Probably an artist.
