Lorenzo is from Crova, Italy. He trained at Teatro alla Scala Ballet School in Milan and at The Royal Ballet Upper School before joining Northern Ballet in 2016 and left in 2022.

Where were you born and raised?

I was born and raised in Crova, a small village in the north of Italy.

At what age did you start dancing?

I started dancing when I was only 7 years old at a little school in my home town.

Where did you train?

At the school in Vercelli, the Teatro alla Scala Ballet School in Milan and at The Royal Ballet Upper School.

Gatsby (The Great Gatsby)

Career/training highlights

Performing the main couple in Grand Défile and Concerto Grosso by Helgi Tòmasson at The Royal Opera House with The Royal Ballet School and Prince Siegfried in Grant Waltz from Swan Lake (Marius Petipa) and Sleeping Beauty Pas de Quatre at the Linbury Studio Theatre with The Royal Ballet School.

What do you like most about being a dancer?

How you need to challenge yourself everyday to try to reach perfection, and the applause from the audience.

If you could adapt one work into a ballet what would it be?

The Wolf of Wall Street film by Martin Scorese.

What is your favourite book?

An Italian book called Fai bei sogni by Massimo Gramellini.

What is your favourite post-show meal?

I think a plate of pasta bolognese is the best post-show meal.

How do you like to relax?

Fishing and listening to some music.

If you weren't a dancer what would you be?

I would have studied to become a broker.
