Ommaira is from Madrid, Spain and trained at the Professional Conservatory of Dance Fortea in Madrid, Joffrey Ballet School in New York and Carmina Ocaña and Pablo Savoye Ballet School in Madrid. She was previously an Apprentice with Oklahoma City Ballet and joined Northern Ballet in 2017.

Where were you born and raised?
I was born and raised in San Lorenzo de El Escorial in Madrid, Spain.
At what age did you start dancing?
At age 6 in a little school in San Lorenzo.

I trained at the Professional Conservatory of Dance Fortea in Madrid, Joffrey Ballet School in New York and Carmina Ocaña and Pablo Savoye Ballet School in Madrid.

Which Northern Ballet roles would you most like to perform?
I would love to perform any role in Romeo and Juliet.

Getting a contract with Northern Ballet.
What do you like most about being a dancer?
I just love to dance in any way and for me ballet is the most beautiful and challenging way to do it. Trying to control my body and to perfect the quality of movement while being any character or simply expressing myself is delightful.
If you could adapt one work into a ballet what would it be?
Much Ado About Nothing by William Shakespeare.
What is your favourite book?
Cato's Return by Matilde Asensi.
What is your favourite post-show meal?
Spaghetti or meat.
How do you like to relax?
I like to sleep, take walks with my dog and watch movies.
If you weren't a dancer what would you be?
I love Art History so probably something related to art like an art restorer.
