Early Years

Northern Ballet’s Early Years project introduces young children to dance through music, storytelling and multisensory play.  It enables the center’s staff to develop the confidence and skills to deliver movement activities themselves as a regular part of their work, while allowing the children to respond creatively to the exploration of a story.  The project can be tailored to each center’s needs through the package they choose which may include:

  • Workshops delivered by a dance artist
  • Accompanying resource pack
  • Staff training twilight and/or mentoring
  • Resources bundle

Sessions are based on stories such as Going on a Bear Hunt by Michael Rosen and Where the Wild Things Are by Maurice Sendak. Centres can access the project throughout the year.
