Beauty's off to Belgium

We’re pleased to announce that for the first time since 2019, we’ll be stepping our pointe shoes overseas.

Following its successful UK tour in autumn 2023, David Nixon CBE’s beloved Beauty & the Beast will be performed at the Capitol theatre in Ghent, Belgium from the 9-12 April before it’s return to Leeds Grand Theatre in June.

Beauty & the Beast tells the story of Beauty who selflessly leaves her family to live with a hideous Beast in his castle in exchange for her father’s life. As time goes by, she grows strangely fond of her host and discovers he hides an extraordinary secret. He was once a handsome prince cursed for his vanity and arrogance, a curse that can only be broken by true love.

The ballet features opulent sets and kaleidoscopic costumes, set to a hand-picked score of classic music from the likes of Bizet and Debussy.

Tickets are available to book at capitol-gent.be. Alongside Beauty & the Beast, Northern Ballet will be reviving Christopher Gable CBE and Massimo Moricone’s Romeo & Juliet and children’s ballet Tortoise & the Hare this spring, see the full tour.

This ballet will be performed to recorded music.
