Utilising the tools within the Theatre Green Book we are aiming to hit the intermediate standard for Hansel & Gretel. This means that 60% of our materials for set, props and costume need to have been used previously and 70% should be used again after the show. Any new materials we do source should be sustainable and we will spend time recording all travel distance and transport methods for the production.
So far, our workshop and wardrobe teams have been meeting with the Designer to make decisions on re-used materials. The company have been getting involved by collecting cans and bottles to help create some of the set and costumes. We have also been collecting toilet rolls for our engagement teams outreach work.
We have begun tracking our progress via the Theatre Green Book materials inventory and have made a promising start.
