Star-crossed lovers Romeo & Juliet in a loving embrace, both wearing white against a fantasy blue and yellow background.

Romeo & Juliet

Directed and Devised by Christopher Gable CBE

Choreographed by Massimo Moricone

The greatest love story ever told is back – as Northern Ballet’s electrifying production returns to stage.

In the ultimate tale of forbidden love, two young people risk everything to be together.

Adapted by Christopher Gable CBE and Massimo Moricone, Romeo & Juliet is one of Northern Ballet’s most beloved and critically acclaimed productions. Every leap, every turn, every heartbeat breathes new life into Shakespeare’s masterpiece and invites you to rediscover the iconic love story like it’s the very first time.

With glorious dancers, eye-catching sets and Prokofiev’s timeless music, this is ballet at its most dramatic, romantic and intense.

A man in leather boots, light trousers, dark belt and white shirt stands forlorn, one hand raised high, the other stretched behind his, his head thrown back
A dancer in white trousers stand in a strong pose, lifting another dancer in a white dress over his head.
Men in masks and black leggings lift a woman in a pink patterned dress and she raises her arms in celebration
Dancer in black red and gold poses imperiously
In cool blue light, Romeo and Juliet dance lovingly and closely across the stage
