Karma Dance presents a double bill featuring Diminished and Isolations with my iPhone.
At the heart of this double bill is Diminished, an Indo-contemporary dance theatre work confronting the stark realities of domestic violence. Blending contemporary and Indian classical dance with live musicians from India/UK, the piece traces a journey from love to control, violence, and isolation — revealing both the darkness of abuse and the resilience that endures. Raw, physical, and emotionally charged, Diminished brings urgent social issues to the stage with visceral impact.
Paired with it is “Isolation with my iPhone”, a poignant exploration of how Deaf individuals navigate intimacy, loneliness, and connection through a device that both unites and distances. Through silence, vibration, and digital expression, the work uncovers layers of meaning beyond words, reflecting on the ways we reach for connection in a fragmented world.
Together, these works form an evening of dance theatre that is bold, moving, and unflinchingly relevant — an artistic experience that resonates long after the curtain falls.
