Three modern ballets, devoted to the power of music and dance.

Led by Yorkshire-born Artistic Director Andrew McNicol, innovative dance company McNicol Ballet Collective makes its Leeds debut this summer with Devotions, featuring a brand-new work, Moonbend

Set to a score by visionary indie pop singer/songwriter Perfume Genius and featuring costumes by British designer Louise Flanagan, Moonbend showcases the company’s passion for the connection between movement and music by turns earthbound and ethereal.

The programme will also include Of Silence an exploration of hope and belonging inspired by the music of Latvian composer Pēteris Vasks. Plus, an extended version of the company’s 2021 creation Bates Beats, an exuberant and energetic work that showcases the virtuosity of the dancers, set to the music of Grammy Award winning Mason Bates.

Running time: 1 hour 30 min (including 20 min interval)

“The sheer connection contact and fluid magnetism from the dancers and indeed the choreography is a real breath of fresh air.”
