The Role
Northern Ballet is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Academy Student Support Team Member to join our vibrant Academy team. This pivotal role ensures the smooth running of the Academy by providing exceptional support to our students, parents, and staff.
The Academy Student Support Team Member serves as a vital link between our reception team, office staff, students, and their families, helping to create a welcoming, professional, and nurturing environment.
- Pay: £11.44 per hour
- Hours: 13 hours per week (term-time contract, 36 weeks per year)
- Tuesday: 16:30–19:45 (3.25 hours)
- Wednesday: 16:30–19:45 (3.25 hours)
- Saturday: 08:45–16:00 (6.5 hours, including a 45-minute break)
- Additional hours may be available during intensive training periods throughout the academic year and will be paid as overtime
- Contract: Term time only
- Location: Leeds

Key Responsibilities

As an Academy Student Support Team Member, you will:
- Welcome students and parents: Meet and greet all students, parents, and adult class participants in a warm and professional manner.
- Act as a first point of contact: Handle queries efficiently, directing more complex questions to the appropriate office staff.
- Chaperone students: Safely escort students to and from studios and ensure secure collection by parents.
- Oversee attendance: Manage the signing-in and out process for all students.
- Observe classes: Supervise Academy classes, support students’ well-being, and assist with any issues or questions that may arise during lessons.
- Monitor student welfare: Record any injuries, illnesses, or concerns, and ensure teachers and Programme Managers are promptly updated.
- Safeguard students: Adhere to Northern Ballet’s Safeguarding Policies and Procedures at all times.

- A valid theatre chaperone licence
- Experience or training in safeguarding practices (mandatory training will be provided for all Academy staff)
The successful candidate will be subject to an enhanced DBS check.
