Three choreographers. Three distinctive works. One extraordinary evening of ballet.

Experience three bite-sized ballets by world-renowned choreographers when Three Short Ballets returns for 2026.

Intimate Pages

Choreographed by Tiler Peck

Inspired by an exquisite string quartet piece by Czech composer Leoš Janáček, who composed with a love interest in mind, Intimate Pages dives into our intense human desire for connection. From solitude and longing to ecstasy and elation, the dancers take us on the heart-racing journey of finding love, brought vividly to life through enthralling group work, passionate duets, and the harmony between movement and music.

Adagio Hammerklavier

Choreographed by Hans van Manen

A ‘timeless classic of twentieth-century dance’, this awe-inspiring exploration of strength, precision and partnership is an 'ode to deceleration'. Choreographed to Christoph Eschenbach’s exceptionally slow performance of Beethoven’s Piano Sonata no. 29, three couples tread the fine line between stillness and motion, like a wheel that turns so slowly it's on the brink of stopping. Balance and control shape every movement, reflecting the delicate dynamics of relationships: intimacy, passion, tension, conflict and understanding.

Winter Dances

Choreographed by David Nixon CBE

Former Northern Ballet Artistic Director David Nixon CBE returns with Winter Dances. A UK premiere, this beautifully expressive dance feels like a family portrait that comes to life through the elegance, strength, and artistry of ballet.

Female dancer wearing a red dress leap high with an arm stretched above her while two dancers dressed in red look on
Three couples, each wearing white, a male holds steady a female who is leaning forward on one foot while the other leg is extended in the air behind her
Two dancers wearing crimson, one holds the others waist and that person is en pointe, one hand on the other's shoulder
