Spring 2022 tour announced

We are pleased to announce our spring 2022 tour where we will revive two of our most popular ballets, Casanova and The Great Gatsby and see children’s ballet Pinocchio embark on a national tour of over 20 cities.

The season will open with Kenneth Tindall’s Casanova at Leeds Grand Theatre. This sumptuous ballet hasn’t been seen on stage since 2017, although it has enjoyed success with TV broadcast on Sky Arts and on demand via Digital Theatre. Following its Leeds opening, the ballet will tour to Sheffield Lyceum Theatre, Sadler’s Wells, London and The Lowry, Salford between March and June.

David Nixon OBE steps down from his role as Artistic Director of Northern Ballet at the end of 2021, but audiences will be able to continue enjoying his work as The Great Gatsby tours to Edinburgh Festival Theatre, Milton Keynes Theatre and Cardiff New Theatre between April and June 2022.

Children’s ballet Pinocchio is choreographed by Northern Ballet Junior Soloist Gavin McCaig. This delightful production for young children re-tells the original story by Carlo Collodi, reminding us all that where there is love and honesty there is always magic.

For more information, on sale dates and booking details for performances until June 2022, see northernballet.com/whatson. More dates for Casanova and The Great Gatsby will be announced later in the year as part of Northern Ballet’s autumn 2022 tour.
